Turkey: Day 9 – 2nd International Davraz Congress

9-DSCN0593 We had the opportunity to participate in the 2nd International Davraz congress, hosted by Suleyman Demirel University in Isparta.

Suleyman Demirel University is Turkey’s third largest University. Under the leadership of Rector Hasan Ibicioglu, the University is rapidly growing. It currently holds 65,000 students and there are numerous expansion projects taking place at their campus.

The three-day Davraz Congress featured participants from several countries and focused on the theme of “Building New Approaches to the Global Issues.”

Individuals from different nationalities, religions, races, genders, political beliefs and walks of life joined together to discuss some of the major issues that affect us all as a global community with the purpose of learning from each other.9-DSCN1004

Panelists discussed topics such as: Security and Terror, International Migration, Environment and Energy Relations, Discussion on Administration, Agriculture, Food, Hunger and Poverty, Global Competition and Enterprise Behaviours, Science and Philosophy, Global Crisis and Problems of Civilization Discussions.

In this age of social media and technology, participants were able to connect through new forums in order to continue the dialogue that was started at the Congress, once they return to their home countries.9-DSCN0926

The Congress was very well planned and organized by Suleyman Demirel University and proved to be a huge success.

Suleyman Demirel University’s Rector, Ibicioglu, announced at a press conference that the next Congress will be taking place in Miami, Florida, USA in February.
