Just feet from the main dock is a station for Capri’s funicular. The funicular takes passengers on a 5-minute, incline train, scenic ride to the center of the town of Capri on the top of the hill.

To the right is the Piazetta, which has a spectacular view of Anacapri (the island’s other city) and the Gulf of Naples. KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAYou are immediately greeted by the famous clock tower. This used to be the bell tower for the Cathedral of St. Stefano.

Europe - Italy - Capri - (6)Walking around the city is fairly easy. Its narrow streets take you past Mediterranean style buildings and many famous brand name boutiques and hotels.

Cafes and Restaurants can be found throughout the city and people watching is pretty much assured in each one.

These gardens were built in the early 20th century by German Friedrich Krupp. The gardens feature beautiful floral landscaping and have incredible lookout points from which you can see I Faraglioni and the Marina Piccola.
